Blue specializes in Emergency Spill Response Clean up services including biohazard decontamination included in Blue's HazMat cleanup. Blue has a spill phone that is answered 24/7 (915.727.1575). Blue's normally response within 1 Hour in the City and 100-mile radius. Blue handles Trauma Scene Cleanup which includes Infectious Diseases and Viruses, Biohazard Clean up and Disposal. Blue also has the capabilities to handle hazardous materials, Clandestine Lab materials, hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Blue follows all the guidelines set by the CDC, State, City, OSHA, and EPA. Our response teams are experienced, trained, certified, and equipped for Trauma Scene Cleanup including COVID-19, Hepatitis, Ebola, HIV, Hantavirus Disinfection and Decontamination, as well as other types of Cleanup and spills.
Blue currently is the service provider for El Paso Water Utilities, Ft Bliss, WSMR, McGregor, Biggs AFB, Tenant (Providence) Hospital, Del Sol Hospital, Air Systems, The former ASARCO Plant, DEA, FBI, Border Patrol, El Paso Police Department, The El Paso Sheriff's Department, VIVA Environmental, and Air Liquide among others.
Experience:
Team members have a combined total of 70 years of experience. Blue Life Environmental, Inc., was founded by Peter "Sebastian" Felix in 2016. Danika J Felix, President/CEO assumed 100% ownership in 2017. The Felix family, employees and teaming partners bring a wealth of experience as well as do key team project members. They have completed over 600 Trauma Scene Cleanup projects.
Blue handles everything from chemical spills to oil spills for our clients including biological agents such as Anthrax for the FBI. Blue also handles Bio-Hazard cleanup projects including “Sharps Remediation” which are hypodermic needles used by addicts and left in culverts’, alleys, etc. Blue handles all disposal including lab packing, packaging, labeling and hazardous waste transportation.
Blue directly handles the cleanups of vehicle bio-hazard contamination for Enterprise Rent a Car, and other car rentals involved in crimes. Once Law Enforcement release the vehicle, Blue will respond within two hours to begin the cleanup and decontamination.
Blue is currently disinfecting and decontaminating for COVID-19 at over 20 EPWU Facilities which cover 131,000 sq ft. We are working there after hours daily. The solutions that we use will kill, HIV, Hepatitis, Ebola, Zika, Hantavirus and Corona Viruses, among others. We wipe down all the “human contact” surfaces to remove grime and dirt then wipe off the bleach then wipe on RejuvNal, an EPA certified and approved disinfectant, then wipe off once dry. We do not leave any residue and we are careful around workstations, computers and other electronic items.
Blue directly responds to Trauma Scene Clean up at Ft Bliss at the request of military base personnel. After surveying the site Blue put together a work plan for the contract officer and the military officer to review and approval. Blue cleaned up the site utilizing the proper disinfectants that are effective on bacterial, fungicidal and viricidal activities, cleaning equipment and PPE.
Blue has directly handled suicide and homicide cleanup for law enforcement and real estate property owners. This included proper packaging and disposal of cleaned up material, carpet, furniture, and sheetrock.
Approach:
Blue is a 24/7 Emergency Response Company. Blue has a first responder on call that answers the spill phone 24 hours a day. Blue has crews on-call with trucks equipped with spill response clean up equipment and supplies. All the field technicians are properly trained and certified.
After the initial call the first responder will put a crew on standby will he visits and surveys the site. A Scope of Work will be put together after the assessment is done. The assessment is reviewed with the client for approval. A cost is also formulated for the client’s acceptance. All invoices are paid per incident.
The first responder will then report to a designated project manager to review all technical and safety requirements. The crew on standby will then be instructed to report to the site with any equipment and supplies that came out of the assessment.
The cleanup and disposal will be handled professionally and discreetly. Blue has Confidential Agreements with the employees and clients. A report, if required, will document field activities with photographs (before, during and after) and waste disposal manifests.
Team:
Occupational Health and Safety Technologists will be assigned to Trauma Scene, COVID-19 and other Infectious Diseases, they will oversee all aspects of each project. A PhD Chemist or Scientist will be on-site to provide field direction and assistance with each clean up. Several environmental technicians can be dedicated to any specific projects, if requested.
Danika J Felix, President/CEO will be responsible for executive oversite including budgets, cost control and issuing teaming agreements. These Key Members are experienced in Field Project Management, OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certified. Experienced in soil and ground water investigations and remediation and hazardous waste remediation projects. Haz-Mat Emergency Response and Incident Commander. Clandestine Laboratory Response for DEA. Trauma Scene Clean up and bio-hazard disposal. Confined Space Entry Certified, Wildlife Rescue Trained. Phase I and II environmental site assessments and surveys, monitor well installations, groundwater remediation; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, Risk Management Plans; UST Removal; Industrial Hygiene; Soil, water, waste-water, PCB, Asbestos and Lead sampling; Air monitoring; Stack sampling, Opacity monitoring; Installation and Operation of electrical dual pump and pneumatic skimmer pump systems; hydrocarbon recovery systems' Hazardous materials clean up, Transportation and Waste management including waste profiling and lab-packing; Compliance inspecting;
Crew Environmental Technicians are experienced in Emergency spill response operations; handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials; Heavy Equipment Operations and Safety; Trained in Blood Borne Pathogens, Confined Space Entry, HAZCOM, Respiratory Awareness including being Respirator Fit-Tested, Personal Protection Equipment, Environmental and Safety Training, OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER with Annual 8hr Refreshers, Railroad Safety; Trauma Scene Cleanup.
Crews are equipped with pickup trucks, flatbeds, and vans. Vehicles are equipped with tools, non-sparking tools and brushes. PPE is assigned to all field personnel which include full face respirators, Tyvek, and nitrile gloves. Disinfectants, degreasers, and neutralizers and stocked in our warehouse and some in each vehicle.
